More Schedule Changes
Hello Parents and Players,
Another schedule change:
The Fremont game that was rescheduled for Monday March 11th has been re-rescheduled for Tuesday April 2 at our home field.
This opens up Monday April 1 before the Fremont game for another team dinner. As I have not filled all of the team dinner slots on the previous schedule, we will not be having a team dinner that night unless I hear from parents willing to do it :) We will also have a team dinner at my house on Monday March 11 (not on the schedule).
I have attached the bus snack schedule, the team dinner schedule and an updated (hopefully correct) contact info sheet. There are still a couple of holes in the dinner schedule that are highlighted. Let me know if you can help with any of them.
Remember to check out the blog maintained by Sandi Jones. It will also have all the schedules (games, chocolate milk, bus snacks, team dinners etc.) as well as pictures and prices of the apparel. Thanks to Sandi for doing this. The address of the blog is Brightonboyssoccer.blogspot.com.
See you at the field (in Orem) tomorrow!
Suzanne
P.S. If you haven't turned in your paperwork (to me) or district participation fees (to the office) please do so ASAP!

Hello,

Welcome to 2013 Brighton Boys Soccer
Hi All!
Welcome to the BHS Boys Soccer Blog!
We hope this will be a resource to you in supporting your son and our team. I will be reposting the emails from Suzanne for reference. We've also got links to the game schedule, locations, team dinners, chocolate milk and bus snack schedules, etc.
In the past, we've also been able to share the photos parents have been taking by adding a link to a Picassa web album, as well.
In the interest of privacy, I will not be adding the team rooster with all the phone numbers. If you need another copy, email Suzanne or me.
The season is a busy fast one and playoffs will be here before you know it!
Brighton Soccer has a tradition of being one of the finest programs at our high school. We hope you take the opportunity to become involved and enjoy the experience with your player.

Weekly Update from Suzanne
Hello soccer players and parents!
Already there are changes in the schedule due to the weather (you gotta love spring in Utah!) Here is the updated schedule for this week. (I've also attached an updated schedule with the changes highlighted and an updated contact list.)

If you are having your physical done at the school and didn't pay on Saturday, please pay $25 in the BHS office, use the green payment slips in the player packets (or 'for physical' in check memo line). Team dinner for this night canceled.
Tuesday, Wednesday, March 5,6: Player practices beginning at 2:30*. Place TBD, possibly Mountview Park (west of Highland Drive on Fort Union Blvd.) West game moved to Monday March 25 (yes, Spring break Monday) at West.
Thursday, March 7: Player practice beginning at 2. Team dinner at the Peterson (Kade) home: 2893 Belton Cir. Sandy 84093 Fremont game moved to Monday, March 11 at home.
Friday, March 8: Game vs. Mountain View at home Varsity 3:30/JV 5:15 (weather permitting, stay tuned for possible changes...)
Chocolate milk: 2 gallons on ice plus 25 cups for Varsity--Natalie Fordham, 2 gallons on ice plus 25 cups and garbage bag for JV--Jacalyn Regehr
Trash clean-up: Junior parents
*Freshmen to practice after school (3:15) if they don't have 7th period gym. Coach Boyer is working with administration at Albion to arrange earlier release for those players. Hopefully this will be arranged for Thursday when the new trimester at Brighton begins and practice will begin at 2.
Thanks to everyone who signed up for dinners, etc at the meeting on Saturday. There are still a few holes which I will send out in the next day or so to try to fill. Also, if there are any parents willing to take pictures at the games to share with the team, please contact me.
Thanks and Go Bengals!

Brighton Soccer Players,
I am excited for our match against Layton on Tuesday. According to the weather forecasts, the temperature may reach into the mid 80s on Tuesday. Staying hydrated is very important. Drinking plenty of liquids (preferably water or gatorade) the day before the game is as important as drinking the day of the game and during the game. I would love to see all of you with water bottles at school on Monday. Try and keep them refilled throughout the day. I am looking forward to a great practice on Monday and playing the best game of the year on Tuesday!
Coach Boyer
Hello Everyone,
Just a heads up for the State tournament. There are only varsity games, no JV. We play at home this Tuesday and Friday at 4:00 (notice the different start time) and then the semis are at Woods Cross next Tuesday at 4:15 with the finals at Rio Tinto next Thursday at 7:00. We will have team dinners the night before each game but I will send out the details a game at a time. We will also do chocolate milk for all the boys each game and bus snacks for the semis and finals. Email me if you'd like to help with the bus snacks or help (I have a host) with the dinner on Monday the 21st before the semis. Also a reminder to go to the office and pay for the banquet on the 31st ($25 per person) and email me also with how many parents/family members are coming. I have only heard from a handful of you. Thanks!
Suzanne
Monday, May 14: Team dinner Gallacher home--9183 S. Falcon Way Sandy 84093
Tuesday, May 15: 1st round, BHS vs. Layton at home 4:00
Chocolate milk: 2 gallons and 25 cups and garbage bag--Kioko Hancock, 2 gallons and 25 cups--Laura Lucky

Hello Everyone,
Before I get to the schedule for the week, just a reminder to put the year end soccer banquet on your calendars. More information will be coming this week, but it will be Thursday, May 31st at 6:30 in the BHS cafeteria. It will be catered and the booster club will cover the cost for the players and coaches. The cost for parents/family to attend will be around $20. As with all money, this must be paid in the BHS office prior to the banquet. Please plan accordingly. It would be helpful for planning to know about how many people will be attending, so please respond to this email with the number of people (not including players--I will assume they will all be there unless I hear otherwise). It will be a nice evening and a fun way to recognize and honor the team for all their hard work throughout the season. On with the week!
Monday, May 7: Team dinner Hansen home--9063 Canyon Gate Cir. 84093
Tuesday, May 8: BHS vs Alta at Rio Tinto stadium JV 4:00/ Varsity 6:00 (note the reverse order of games)
There is no charge for the game so invite all your friends/co-workers/family to come support our awesome boys--and wear as much orange as you can!
Bus treats: Cindy Castleton, Julie Homer, Tammy Peterson
Chocolate milk: 2 gallons and 25 cups for JV--Pilar Shortsleeve, 2 gallons, 25 cups and garbage bag for Varsity--Sandi Jones
(milk can be sent in a cooler on the bus with the boys if it's easier for you, just check with your player about the bus departure time)
**live streaming of this game is planned, barring complications:), athttp://team.sportzfilmz.com/team/brightonboyssoccer
Wednesday, May 9: Team dinner Loosle home--7030 S 2870 E Cottonwood Heights 84121
Thursday, May10: BHS at Cottonwood (5715 S 1300 E Murray, UT 84121) 3:30 Varsity/ 5:15 JV
Bus treats: Kioko Hancock, Trina Metcalf, Suzanne Fankhauser
Chocolate milk: 2 gallons 25 cups and a garbage bag for Varsity--Stacy Bernardo, 2 gallons 25 cups for JV--Cecily Savage
Trash pick-up: Sophomore parents
I hope everyone had as much fun looking through the photos as I did. There were so many great shots, I had a hard time narrowing it down to 3! A BIG thank you to Kaesi and Pilar for coming to every game and watching through their camera lenses (which isn't easy to do!) so all of us could have some great memories of our boys for years to come. In case you don't have the links in your favorites, here they are again:

One last thing....I don't want to jinx us, but it looks possible that we may have a few games after region play :) and we need a couple more team dinners if we do. The dinners would be Thursday, May 17th and Monday, May 21st and (obviously) contingent upon winning. If you are interested in hosting or helping on either of those days, just reply back to me.
Thanks and GO BRIGHTON!
